Director - Dr. Antonios Moronis

Dr. Antonios X. Moronis is currently full Professor at the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of West Attica. He is also deputy director of the Electrical Power Systems Sector of his department and director of the Research Laboratory of Energy Applications and Energy Saving Systems. He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (1990) and a PhD in High Voltage Engineering and Insulating Materials (1995) from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Between May 2001 and February 2018 he served as a Professor at the Department of Energy Technology Engineering of the TEI Athens Technological Institute, where he had also been Director of the Energy Electrical Engineering Sector for many years and Head of this department for two years. He has worked as a researcher at the NTUA (1990-1995) and as an external researcher at the R&D Center of Hellenic Army General Staff (1996-1999). He has also worked as a freelance electrical engineer in private sector companies (1991-1995)..
As an academic, he has participated as supervisor or researcher in various scientific projects of the ΤΕΙ Αthens and the NTUA, or with other universities such as Heriot Watt, Brunel, Politecnico di Milano, Universidad de Granada, etc. He has published a large number of papers in refereed international scientific journals or in proceedings of international and national conferences.
His research interests include high voltage engineering applications and non linear phenomena in dielectrics under high electric fields (dielectric ageing, avalanche effects, impact ionization, partial or corona discharges, electro-hydro-dynamic flows in air etc) reliability, service and maintenance of electric power system components, design and analysis of grounding systems in electrical installations and energy analysis in buildings.
Since 1990 he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece where he has participated in various committees and workshops.

Dr. Mitsoudis Dimitrios

He joined the Department of Energy Technology Engineering as an Assistant Professor in June 2014. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (1990), an M.Sc. in the Mathematics of Nonlinear Models from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K. (1993), and a Ph.D. in the Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations from the Dept. of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (2003).

Dr. Gerorgios Tsekouras

He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (1994) from the National Tehcnical University of Athens (NTUA), an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the NTUA (2001), a diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (2004) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from NTUA (2006). During his studies he has received over 20 scholarships and prizes. He has worked as an Electrical Engineer in the private and public sector form 2000 to 2010. From 2010 to 2017 he has been a lecturer and then an Assistant Professor in the Naval Academy. From 2017 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy Technology Engineering and since March 2018 he is an Assistant professor at the Elelctrical and Electronic Engineering Departement of the University of West Attica.

Dr. Ioannis Rampias

He studied in the University College of Cardiff in U. K., from where he received the degree of B.Sc. (Hon.) in Electrical - Electronic Engineering in 1979 and the degree of M.Sc. in Electrical - Electromagnetic of Engineering in 1981. He worked out his Doctoral thesis on "Power losses in amorphous metal alloys" at Wolfson Centre for Magnetics Technology (UCC) in 1985. Dr. Skouroliakou Aikaterini

She is an Assistant Professor at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens since 2007. She graduated from the Physics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1993. She holds an MSc degree in Medical Physics from the University of Aberdeen (1994) and a PhD in ultrasound image processing from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2007).

Panagiotis Kontaxis

Panagiotis Kontaxis received the Dipl. Degree in Energy Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Energy Technology Department, in 1996, the Dipl. Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2003 and the M.Sc. Dipl. Degree in Energy Production and Management from the National Technical University of Athens in 2004. His research interests include artificial lighting, daylighting, ccd sensors, energy saving, artificial neural networks and electrical drive systems.

Emmanouil D. Fylladitakis

Emmanouil D. Fylladitakis received a B.Sc degree in electrical energy engineering from the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 2010, an M.Sc degree in energy with distinction from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2012, where he received a prize for outstanding merit, and a Ph.D degree from the Electronics and Computer Engineering department of the Brunel University London, U.K.
His research interests include the study of corona discharges, electrohydrodynamic effects, renewable energy systems, energy conservation in buildings, engineering education and distance learning systems.

Emmanouil Proestakis

He studied Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (1986). He obtained a Master's degree in "Environmental Design of Infrastructure Projects" by the Greek Open University (Bachelor Degree 2007). He also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering of KATEE of Heraklion, Crete (1981). He received a scholarship from IKY twice. He has worked as an Engineer in Design and Manufacturing with categories of works and specialized works in the Electromechanical class A2 and Industrial and Energy Class A1. He was a Technical Adviser at OPAP SA with studies and surveys of major projects. From 1983 to 2018 he has taught at the TEI of Athens as a laboratory instructor. From 1986 to the present day, he maintains a Technical Office of Electromechanical and Construction Studies. His research interests include energy conservation in buildings, building eco design and materials testing.

Konstantinos Kiousis

Dr. Konstantinos Kiousis received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2006, an MSc in Renewable Energy Technology in 2010, a Medu in Pedagogical Training in 2012, a PhD in High Voltage Engineering in 2014, a PgD Level 5 in Business Management in 2015, while he is pursuing an International MBA. He has various publications in Scientific Journals and Conferences, while he is the author of the book 'The EHD effects in assumetric gaps'. He has more than ten years of woriking and teaching experience and he is a certified minor and adult instructor. He currently is Erasmus Plus Coordinator and Director in DELTA Vocational Training Institute. His research interests include high voltage engineering, electrohydrodynamic effects, and energy systems.
